Pumpkins and Ghosts!

The pencil toppers are made from felt and everything is done in the hoop and then cut out. They are so fun to make and then just slide them on a Halloween pencil. Wouldn't they be great for a pre-school class or kindergarten class? Or for special Trick-0r-Treaters.

Ok I was going to only pick one design for girls for Halloween but I saw this one and decided I had to have it because it can last until Thanksgiving. Next time I may do the center portion of the pumpkin in a different fabric print and the name in a different thread color. This was a "practice" run and now I will send it to Baby Jillian. She can be my test model. Design is from AppliqueMarket and font is Orange Juice from 8Clawsandapaw.

AWOL?

School has started and the first weeks are so demanding and stressful so I've been out of touch. However, I have been busy making things...its my therapy. My job is the best but it does cut into my sewing time! I have been working on a few projects this week which includes WAMPUS CAT shirts. Several friends have shirts that they want personalized so I wanted to show you a few of those. Also, I monogrammed Zebra shirts for 3 cousins. How precious! I only put their names on them. The sweet Zebras were already on the shirts. I found LSU cloths in a bundle of 6 so I just added names. How easy is that? Geaux Tigers! Next weekend is the start of Tiger football! And I ordered black pails for Halloween. If you think I'm crazy for thinking about Halloween in August.....I probably am. But I love holidays and since I work full-time I have to start early so I'll be ready. Well that is a little bit of what I've been doing plus a few baby things. So have a wonderful Saturday night and Sunday!

I've got orange vinyl to put on these pails. Ohh I can't wait to work on these! Look at those ghost and Jack-o-Lantern Peeps! Oh I love Trick or Treat time.

Go CATS!

Sweet Tarts font for LHS

Purple and Gold! My favorite color combination.

The Saints and Chocolate Cheesecake Bars

Chocolate Cheesecake Bars

A friend asked me to make an LSU or a SAINTS burp for a father who loves sports. I went with the Saints. I used Embird font #38, Kool Kurls and a fleur de lis from Embroidery-Boutique. My Kurls font did not come with a question mark but I would like to have used one.

This weekend I needed a dessert to take to church. Bakerella had posted a recipe for Cheesecake Bars earlier in the week so I thought that sounded like a good one to try. Her recipe called for "Biscoff" cookies. If you've ever flown on Delta then you've probably had Biscoff. Having just taken a trip to Atlanta I knew exactly what she was talking about. But wher does one buy Biscoff? I'm not Bakerella and people don't shower me with baking ingredients and neat baking supplies to try. I decided I would just use regular graham cracker crumbs. I think this is the best recipe Bakerella has ever shared with her readers....Biscoff or not. There was not a crumb left from dinner at church Sunday. My hubby insisted I make it again for him. It is sooooo delicious. It's not difficult if you like making cheesecakes. Check out the pics on http://www.bakerella.com/ I have the recipe on my computer and will gladly share it with you. Happy Friday!!!!

Grayson and Addison Claire

Frankie is from LynniePinnie. I looked at many Halloween designs before I settled on this one for boys.
The font on Frankie is Kool Kurls from NobbieNeezKids. Love, love, love that font.
Us grandmothers and mothers in the south love things that are cute, precious and adorable and I think Rachel at Embroidery-Boutique hit all three with this design!
The font on this design is Fancy Font from
Embroitique.

I made my Grayson a Halloween shirt this weekend. His mom likes it so I'm happy! Who doesn't like Frankenstein especially a friendly non-threatening one. Also, my friend at work is having a little girl in January so I made her a burp cloth. These diapers are a smaller diaper than the regular size. They are perfect for newborn babies. I having been looking at this design for some time now but when it went on sale at 30% off I ordered it right away. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Happy Birthday Creek!

Creek is 1! His birthday party was today and it was a Baseball Birthday Party! Creek is destined to be a great athlete because his dad is and actually his whole family are natural athletes. I tried to cover LSU, Baseball and Saints. Happy Birthday precious little boy!

Addison Sophia

I apologize for the very light picture. I have another baby shower.....it is the summer for babies! I made Addison Sophia a bib in pink waffle pique lined with pink chenille. I wanted her things to be soft and feminine.

Addison's matching burp cloth in pink pique. Her initials are so pretty monogrammed.
The font is Fancy Font from Embroitique.

I wanted something that didn't shout LSU but this is the very feminine understated...Yah! I'm a future LSU fan..bib. I used lavender gingham and stitched her initial in a beautiful gold. The font is Emily from Embroitique. The thread is glorious...it is the Madeira brand. If I could afford to I'd only use that brand. It has a sheen to it that says.....nice thread.
I can't wait to meet Addison Sophia...with such a beautiful name she'll be a beautiful southern belle baby I'm sure.

Baby P

I have a baby shower to attend tomorrow and the baby has not been named yet so I used the baby's last name....not quite as fun as knowing the first name. The theme is Western so I picked up some horseshoe fabric in anticipation of sewing for this little boy. The pattern was busy so I needed a good strong thread color and I chose black. I think navy would have worked, too but I don't any ribbons or accents in navy that's why I went with black. I was inspired by a favorite blogger of mine to personalize Christmas ornaments. For Baby P I chose a large iridescent white ball and cut red and black vinyl to match my color theme. You can't see but I put 2010 on the back as reminder of his birth year. I also bought purple, black and hot pink ornaments. I plan to do Saints, LSU and Pink Flamingo ornaments for Christmas.

I found this matching horseshoe from LynniePinnie. I used the 5x7 on the large burpcloth and the font is Embird 38 (the only Embird font I own).

I made Baby P another burpcloth with a different shape and used the horseshoe fabric. It is lined in white waffle pique.

And a hooded towel. I used the smaller 4x4 design on the hood. Love Jumbo rickrack!

Voila! Baby Pollard's gifts. It's late and I'm tired and I'm sure I bored you with too many pictures! Good night!

Boo!

Halloween 2010

I have been searching for the right designs I wanted for this Halloween. Last year I used an appliqued spider from NobbieNeezKids. It was a great design but it literally took me one hour for every design which didn't include "cleaning up" the design. This year I wanted something cute but not quite so time consuming. This is what I want to do for the girly girls....a simple witch hat. I plan to use other colors and words but this is the general idea. Now I need to find something for the little men. Got any ideas? The hat is from an Etsy store and the font is Sherry from 8ClawsAndAPaw. The onesie is a 0-3 months so I used the 4x4 size design but for larger sizes I will use the 5x7. I love all holidays but Halloween is always so fun. The only person I know who loves it more than me is my daughter....maybe because I was in the hospital on Halloween getting ready to deliver her about 25 years ago.
