More Onesie Dresses

Warning : making a onesie dress can become addictive :)  These are so much fun to make!  My daughter wanted one for Sloan when she saw them.

The onesie is a 6-12 month so Sloan will wear it late fall.

This one is for Ella Marie.  Since she will arrive in September she will have her 1st Halloween this year.

I wanted a black cat for the front but couldn't find just the right one so I used lettering.

These are fun to make for any holiday or season.
Have a great Thursday!

Sewing for Ella Marie

My youngest niece, Lisa will be having a baby girl in September.  I am going to visit all of my Atlanta, Georgia family in a couple of weeks so I'm starting to sew for Ella Marie.  This is a project that I've been wanting to try for awhile..... a onesie dress.

It has taken me all morning to complete it but it is finished and I like it!  I don't think the next ones will take me as long.  Since Ella Marie is not due until September I used a long sleeve onesie.

I used this tutorial.  It uses elastic which makes it easier to slip the dress over the baby's head.  If anyone wants to make one skip on over to Barefootinthekitchen.  I modified her directions ever so slightly only because I serged the unfinished edges.  Also, I cut my onesie and I don't believe she cut hers.  Next time I will make the onesie a bit longer.....I needed a little more room for the monogram and rickrack.  If you have any questions just email me and I'll try to help.

I plan to make Ella a onesie to match this burp cloth.  Love this little happy owl :)

I believe he is a LynniePinnie design and her things are on sale so hop over there to take advantage of the sale.

I think I will add a bow to the owl so he will become a she :)
More later for Ella Marie, my great-niece to be!

I'm Back!

I've just returned from a 10 day trip to SanDestin.  I love to travel but I also love to come home.....there's no place like home.  Before I left I finished a few projects but did not have the time to share them before hitting the road.  So I'd like to share them now that I'm back.

This is a shower gift someone ordered for a little girl who's going to be a big sister soon.  It's a tee shirt with Chunky lettering and curlz font and a matching ruffle.

2 burps for Julia Catherine

Polka Dots......never tire of them especially pink and ocean colored ones.  Fabric is Riley Blake

Diaper Bag for Julia Catherine

J onesie for Julia

I bought lots of chiffon to use for ruffles.  If it is too much for a baby it can be removed.

Remember the red seersucker knot dress for Sloan?  This is Grayson's matching shirt.  I used a free square pattern I had and added a mini crab tilted in the corner.  They wore their matching outfits one night in SanDestin.  Of course they were soooo cute!

I also used this crab on a burp for Sloan.....it was just a larger size.

This adorable dress was something Sloaney's mom bought and I just added initials.

Is there anything more perfect to wear for a Florida vacation than white and navy blue?
I will share pictures of our vacation as soon as I can look through all 350 of them :)
Hope you all have a wonderful July 4th weekend!
