Sloan & Brooklyn

Just a few things I have been sewing for these two baby girls to arrive soon.  Sewing for girls allows room for lots of embellishments and color choices.
For Sloan, a pink and white striped receiving blanket.  It was trimmed in green so I stitched her name in that same green.

A hooded towel for Sloan.  I used a heart design from PlanetApplique and added her initials.  The original design had a small lower case initial in the center.  I removed that and added the fancy font initials.....just looks more dainty and feminine.
A regular towel for Brooklyn's big sister.  I used the larger heart and added her initials.  I also added ribbon and a pompom fringe.
Brooklyn's hooded towel.  I love the turquoise fabrics.  These were small pre-cute quilting squares that I bought this summer.  They fit perfectly over the smaller hearts.  The design has a decorative top stitch on the outline which is such a nice touch.  I used white thread top-stitched in turquoise.
These burp cloths were fun to do.  Brooklyn got an Eiffel Tower and Sloan, a fleur de lis.
This design is called Classy Damask Font Frame.  I bought it several months ago when it was on sale and decided to use it for babies.  One in brown and pink and the other in black and pink.  The design is from Embroitique.
A few extras for Sloan.  More baby things to come this week!
Tomorrow is the first day back to work after the wonderful 2 weeks of Christmas vacation.  Good luck to all the teachers who will be in shock when the alarm goes off bright and early in the morning.  Have a great week!

Almost Midnight

I've got the black-eyed peas soaking, the cabbage is ready to cook and I'm waiting for 2011 to arrive.  I'm doing what I love right now and that is sewing for some little princesses.  I've been sewing a lot the last couple of days.  There are several special babies coming soon and I'm busy sewing for them. I will share some of those things later but I'm waiting on my daughter to announce the name of her little girl that's coming soon.  I don't want to share her name before her parents tell everyone.  So I can't show you anything for her.  However, I can share a birthday apron for Kalina.  Mandy, a loyal customer, orders aprons for her daughter to give for birthday presents.  I try to match personalities with their aprons.  Mandy says Kalina loves the whole Disney Princess theme.  So we went with pinks and purples and a princess crown. Kalina will be a little birthday princess.

I pray all of you have a safe, healthy and super new year!
Happy 2011 and Love to all!

Ooh la la .... Breakfast with Santa

Breakfast with Santa by Tobi Fairley
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  I know I surely did.  I also know everyone is probably taking down the Christmas decorations or planning to very soon.  However, I just had to show you this beautiful breakfast table scape by Interior Decorator Tobi Fairley.  I think it is absolutely the cutest table design I've seen.  Of course I'm partial to Eiffel Towers and French words and maybe that's why I like it soooo much.  I'm planning to have one very much like it next year.  Check out Tobi's blog and see her other ideas and work.  She is located in Little Rock, Arkansas so she's a Southern girl.

Aren't these the greatest chair back covers?
Joyeux Noel until next year!

Merry Christmas

Logs are on the fire, gumbo is on the stove, dips and chips are out and we are just waiting for our first wave of family to arrive.  I will use this time to wish all of you a very merry, merry Christmas.  To my blogging buddies, you are the greatest and to friends and family...you are loved dearly.  May you have a wonderful weekend with you loved ones and may all your days be merry and bright.
Merry Christmas from my family to yours
