This recipe is a favorite in my office. It is a variation of the delicious "Ooey Gooey" Cake that we've all eaten or made. But this is ever BETTER! and it lives up to its name"Girdle Busters". Don't make it if you are dieting because it is too tempting. Make it for friends and give it away. Yeah, right. Enjoy! Let me know if you want the recipe.

Happy Weekend
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and staying warm. I have been learning a bit more about my Cricut. There is so much that can be done with a Cricut but like any other hobby it takes time. Vinyl is one material that has many possibilities. I tried a very simple project...one initial. I want to work up to a phrase to put on my kitchen wall. I will need some practice but with the help of many creative ladies who are willing to share their talent I should be able to do it by this spring. I needed to make a gift for a helpful friend so I made a journal and candle. I used brown vinyl and made her initial for the candle. It's a start. Enjoy your Saturday.

Who Dat?
Here in Louisiana, we are all getting ready for the big Super Bowl game with our Saints. Everyone is excited and trying to get the perfect tee shirt or jersey. Several mothers and grandmothers want their little ones dressed in black and gold, too. It's a fun time to cheer for our Saints. The mini fleur de lis is from lynniepinnie embroidery and the "Who Dat" is a design from SewForum. Geaux Saints!

Flocked
Late(for us 8:30) last night I was in my craft room and my husband was watching a ball game. I think hear the door bell ring and my dog starts barking. I run into the front of the house to ask my husband to answer the door for I'm not about to answer it that late. At the front door in the dark are standing two young ladies telling us that "we'd been flocked". Ok what is that? Well in our yard were a flock of pink flamingos and a "You've Been Flocked" sign. We were told we needed to make a donation to the Relay for Life so that we could get the flamingos removed from our yard. Of course I wanted to make a donation to Relay for Life but I really did not want to have the flamingos leave us too quickly. I loved them and wanted them to stay around for a day or two. However, they had to move on by noon today so that more money could be raised for the American Cancer Society. What a great fund raiser! But I do miss my flamingos. They were so cute!

Weekend Projects
I've been able to get alot of projects done this weekend and I wanted to share them with you. I've seen many pretty Mod Podge frames and have wanted to try making one. I found an inexpensive frame at the dollar store and thought I'd try. Not too happy with the results but at least I know how to do it kinda. I think the paper I used was too soft. A bolder pattern would look better. Sorry Grayson I had to put your sweet picture in the "girly" frame but it was all I had. Also, I made several valentine shirts. It was hard finding a design that I liked for boys but I finally found one I like. The design was kinda busy so my husband suggested I put the little fellow's name on the back. I really like that idea. I have a "little" friend who likes to cook so she is getting a Valentine apron, mitten and hot pad. I did not do the applique on the mitten and hot pad only the apron and her name. Going to put my machine away for the night I think unless I decide to make another shirt! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Journal for a Friend
I found some great scrapbooking papers called "chick-a-dee". The papers are shades of pink, peach, yellow and white. All of the papers are different patterns but all coordinate. They would be perfect for baby girls or any age girls actually. I love the large chick-a-dee print used for the front of the journal. I used the same colors in the matching card. It makes an adorable birthday gift for a busy teacher.

Happy Monday
Start with a pretty plate. I can't resist anything pink with hearts, peonies, French words and at a good price, too. I found these at an unbelievable price and bought almost all they had. Add some peppermint hearts (these little things will test your patience but I will gladly share the how to's), oreo lollipops, tie up with cellophane, ribbon and a heart wish. And voila....a Valentine gift for a loved one! Enjoy your Monday!

Onion and Pepper Relish
A few years ago, we tried Harry and David's Onion and Pepper Relish. We love it but only buy it when we go to an outlet mall that has a Harry and David Store. My family can eat a jar in a matter of a few minutes but at $5.50 a jar it's only for special occasions. Until I found the recipe for the "copy-cat" version. It is just as good as the real thing. However, it is a labor of love. If anyone wants the recipe just let me know. Thanks to the "how to gal" for sharing the recipe.
