Busy Week

A busy, hard week + morning duty + painters at home (my house is discombobulated :) = a stressed out Bella but...........

a good friend at work brought us a chocolate cake Friday (and the recipe) which sure did make things better.  This cake is called "Never Ending Chocolate Cake" and I want to share the recipe with you.  Just ask.  It starts with a chocolate cake mix, choco pudding, choco syrup, choco chips and chocolate frosting.  Absolutely wonderful!  I made one this morning.

By Saturday morning I had my second breath and was ready to help Little Grayson celebrate at his birthday.  Of course it was a "firetruck" party.  He was oblivious to his guests as he played with his new firehouse.  Even a real firetruck showed up and real firemen!

If only time could stand still.........and he'd always be 3 years old

I am so happy to say that I have finished all my fall shirts......football, Halloween, birthday.....all finished!  Now on to Thanksgiving & Christmas.
Here are new Christmas fabrics I picked up.  This is the traditional stack of fabrics....brown cord, Christmas reds.  Lots of Gingerbread boys and girls, reindeer.....

And my favorite....the non-traditional Christmas stack.

A good Aunt ordered Homecoming outfits for her niece for this weekend.  Megan will be ready for some Wampus CAT football and the parade.

We made this one kind of generic so she could just switch the bow and it becomes LSU or Saints.

This is the back view of her skirt/leggings...oh she will be so cute!

And a Christmas design.....Rosie Reindeer.

I think I love Rosie Reindeer
Have a wonderful Homecoming to all my LHS and Pickering High School friends!  Go TEAMS!

Happy Birthday Grayson!

Three years ago today our Grayson was born.  He is without a doubt the sweetest and most precious little boy I know.  He loves firetrucks, Police Cars, Motorcycles, Trains, The Lion King, All Aboard (aka The Polar Express), gumbo, cupcakes and I love him to the MOON.  He makes me laugh and makes my heart flutter when he says "Belwa" (his own version of Bella, what he calls me).  I thank God every day for my Grayson!
Happy 3rd Birthday Grayson!

So I sewed a few things for that boy!  His shirt for school for Halloween Party Day.

A little Turkey Day shirt!

Christmas shirt for a new little fellow.

I saw these on Pinterest and wanted to give them a try.  They are too cute to eat but we'll eat them anyway.  Oreo Truffles covered in white bark.

I Love Fall and Halloween!
Have a super week!

Tutus for Two Sisters

I've been sewing alot lately for these two sisters.  Big Sis is having a birthday party soon and she and her sister will be wearing the same outfit but in different colors.

This is little sister's tutu and her onesie will have the Miss Kitty design in aqua polka dots with pink accents.

Big sis will wear a Miss Kitty shirt in pink polka dots with purple accents.

So her tutu is made in shades of purple, lavender and pink.
This is the largest tutu that I have made.  It is almost 10.5 " long.  It's so big and full.......I love it!
Happy Birthday Sweet Jackson!

Back to Work!

Some Mondays are just harder than others :-)  This weekend was just fun and so I don't want to get back to a routine.  I did find two cute pumpkins at the pumpkin patch and brought them home with me.

My daughter wanted a plate like this so we just made one.  This is the practice one.  I wrote down all the sizes of everything I cut so hopefully the next one will be easier to make.

The plate seems to reflect the light so these are not good pictures.  I hope you all have a "marvelous Monday".

Santa's Favorite

Tonight I took the time to learn to make a rolled hem on my serger.  It is a nicer finish.  I had to change quite a few settings on my serger to get that look.  It is a 3-thread stitch rather than 4 so I had to remove my right needle.  Those of you use a serger know how tedious threading a serger can be but it worked and I like the look of a rolled hem.

This is another design that I will be offering for Christmas.  I added ruffled grosgrain ribbon around the neck and a ruffle (with a rolled hem:)) around the hem of the shirt.

I know several little girls who are certainly Santa's favorite!

Announcement & Skully For Sloaney

I want to let all of my loyal, wonderful and understanding customers know that October 15 will be the last day I'm taking orders for this year.  My plan is to finish all my orders by Thanksgiving or before and the rest of November and December will be for me to spend with my family or sew for friends and family.  I know that everyone will understand.  So please place your Thanksgiving & Christmas orders by October 15 so that you will have them in time for your special family times.  Thanks to the best customers anywhere!

Sloan is going to a Pirate Birthday Party and needed a shirt to wear with the rest of her Pirate outfit.  This is what her mother and I decided on.  We may add a bow to Skully......what do you think?  Bow or no bow?

Skully for Sloaney :-)
Short week.....whoohoo!

Fall Shirts

I've been making shirts for special little girls to wear this fall.

I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful & cool fall weather that we are having.  Teachers have a short week but students an even shorter one.  My family is coming in for the fair and rodeo so we will have a busy and fun weekend.  Have a great week!
