Vacation Stuff for Grayson!

I had to make Grayson a shirt to wear for the 4th. We will not be together for that day but I'm sure I'll see pictures and I think he will be handsome and patriotic in his "America" shirt. The design is from Five Star Fonts. This is my first design from them...very pricey but for Grayson I splurged.

When he's on vacation I want everyone to know he is from Louisiana and that he is a Tiger Fan. In fact he told me he wants to play golf for LSU and attend LSU Law School just like his PaPa Asa. So he's got his sand pail, snack dishes and sippy cups and he's gonna show his Tiger Spirit.

I just happened upon this font and really like it. It is wide and cute so it cuts well and will not tear like more "dainty" fonts. It is called Ravie and I think it is standard on most computers.

Papa Asa went to town to buy all of Grayson's favorite snacks so I could fill his containers. Some of his favorites are Pepperidge Farm Goldfish and Nabisco Cheez-It. When he's strolling the beaches he'll have plenty to snack on.

And last but not least I bought him a couple of CD's to listen to in the car. This one is perfect for a beach vacation. Gray will be dancing in his carseat! What fun we're going to have!

4th of July Treats

I found these bags on Elle's Studio and added the scalloped circles and Happy
4th circles. I added lots of candy and a chocolate-dipped double stuffed Oreo. I wanted to do something for my husband's 10 secretaries before the 4th. I love the bags Elle's Studio always has for the holidays. I have the Christmas and Valentine bags. They come as a PDF file and you can print as many as you need and they are easy to put together. You all know I do these dipped Oreos for all the holidays, too. They can be decorated in any colors. The only problem with making them is being tempted to eat several. Oh well the calories are worth the splurge. Hope you all are getting ready for a wonderful 4th, too.

Jillian Claire

Jillian Claire was born March 18. I received her birth announcement this week so I had to get busy sewing for her. Her parents are good friends of my kids. I love her name...Jillian Claire!
This burp is petit just like Jillian. Her mom loves the color purple but just had to make her some pink things.

Even though Jillian is a Texan for the time being her parents are BIG LSU fans. I made the hooded towel again but this time I made the hood smaller and added ribbon.

She also needs an LSU pail. Congratulations Julie and Jered! Jillian is beautiful.

Things I Made Today

I tried three new things today and actually liked each one of them. So let me share those things with you. My daughter is hosting a Jewelry Party and she is using a Pink and Yellow color theme. She is also using pink and yellow food. So I volunteered to make "mini-cupcakes" and Lemon Cooler Cookies for her......both were new adventures. The mini cupcakes are great and just the perfect bite size. I think they will be easier for folks to handle and easier to eat and they are just so cute! Also, I made the cookies from a recipe I found online. She is using those for a "take home" goodie bag. It all will be fun. And last but not least, I have been wanting to make hooded towels for gifts but knew I needed to wait until I had more time and boy did it take me some time to figure these out. I used 2 tutorials and ended up with the better of the two. They require a bath towel and a hand towel. My sweet Grayson loves cars and always carries one with him everywhere he goes so I used a car applique on the hood. It is from GG Embroidery Designs. Her designs are always digitized so well and I know they are a good quality. So for my first time I am pleased. However, I think they are addictive.....I can't wait to make more and more. Next time add ribbon or rickrack or whatever. Tomorrow I am going to Lake Charles to deliver cupcakes, cookies and hooded towel but I am also going to take a sewing class. I can embroider but not really sew an article of clothing so this should be interesting. I will let you know if I can do it!

Pirate Cupcake Toppers

Ty's turning 3 and his mom wants cupcake toppers for his Pirate Theme Party. I made these for a trial run. I have some changes I want to make but at least I've got a starting point. The graphics are from Lettering Delights and are sooo cute. I think the little pirates are my favorites. Happy Pirates Birthday, Ty!

Charlotte

Charlotte's mom and I became friends through the Internet. She is a talented graphic designer who creates the kind of designs that I love. I found her through TomKat Studio's blog and she has been so helpful and wonderful to work with. She has done some custom designs for me and some I buy from her shop. She recently converted a PNG file to a SVG file so that I could use it with my Cricut. Whatever I have needed she is so willing to help me with. I asked her to let me make something for her children and she wanted a shirt for her sweet little Charlotte. Hopefully Monique will let me embroidery something for her little boy. Check out her beautiful shop http://www.moniquechvataldesigns.com/
I wanted something soft and sweet for Charlotte since she is a young toddler. I chose a design called Baby Patch and used pink fabric. The applique is from PlanetApplique, my favorite shop for appliques. They are simple and modern.

Recipe Friday

Muffin man (aka Grayson) and Alex are coming for the weekend so I had to make muffins for those guys. Bakerella shared these on her blog a couple days ago and they looked really good and they are really good. They are called Yummy Bananaberry Muffins and I would love to share the recipe. Just send me an email. Have a great weekend!

Twinkle Toes Ballet

A friend asked me to design a shirt for her young niece who is having her Dance Recital this weekend. I found a wall hanging at Hobby Lobby that was my inspiration for the shirt....Twinkle Toes. It was 50% off. I also found a frame in the almost "give away section". It had a mark or two in it but fit my color scheme so I snapped it up. A bow hides the less than perfect spots and her name in vinyl makes it personal. So "break a leg" Ashley! I know you will be an adorable ballerina. Isn't that appropriate for dance recitals? I hope she likes her gifts.
