Tomorrow evening several friends and I are giving a shower for a new mommy. The colors are yellow, green and white and we are using the yellow birdie-chick for the theme. I made cupcakes tonight in green and yellow. I also made the invitations that went out weeks ago. This is just a preview of the shower. Check back tomorrow night for more pictures of the little birdie shower. It's going to be a fun evening. Also, there will be a sweet little girl featured on Photo Friday....so come back on Friday, too!

My daughter asked me to monogram this shortall for Grayson. She wanted it done in red but left it up to me to decide what to do.....name or monogram. I decided on a monogram. The monogram is a built-in design on my machine. I think she will like it. This weekend I found this "under the sea" beach towel at Target. I liked the design and the colors of the towel.... added his name so he's ready for the beach. It's that time of the year already. Can't wait to see little "Grayman" swimming.

Made a few things for Baby Isabella. She will be born very soon. I tried a new flower design from LynniePinnie on one of the burp cloths. I like it because it has a zigzag stitch instead of the traditional satin stitch. It gives it a lighter look. I wish more digitizers would offer the alternate stitches. I found a beautiful little fabric shop this weekend. Once you buy really nice fabric you are spoiled and can't go back to the discount fabrics. I also found the softest onesie...the pink one I used for Isabella. They are by SewBeautiful Baby....cost more but are so nice. I would love to find a supplier for these onesies. I was out of town most of the weekend but just got home and started sewing. We also have the day off tomorrow! Yah! Wonderful way to start the week. See you tomorrow with some things I did for Grayson.

My first Photo Friday begins with Grayson! His mommy sent a picture of Grayson wearing his red and white seersucker shortall that I gave him for Easter and that has his name embroidered on it. Isn't he a cutie? When I asked his mom a few questions about Grayson here is what she had to say:
1. Class of?........2026
2. Favorite foods? ...... Rice and gravy.....anything with rice
3. Hobbies?.......Loves to dance, play with Brees, loves music, plays with his cars, wrestle with his daddy, and just as of recently, go to the beach :)
4. What he wants to be when he grows up?......As of now, he will either become a builder (he loves to build things) or a musician since he loves music.
5. Favorite pet?.......Brees is his best friend
6. Girlfriend?......No girlfriend yet, thank goodness. But he is already a ladies man. They all love him!
Thanks Grayson and mommy for sending in your pictures for my "Photo Friday"! He is adorable in his embroidered shortall. Everyone have a great weekend and send in your pictures for next week

"A" towels for a young lady finishing school and preparing to start her first job. I have had this large font for a long time but never used it. I think it was a free font and I plan to use it a lot. It is almost 7 inches tall. Kinda makes a bold statement. I also found this great ribbon at the dollar store. Love, love, love the dollar store. I can always find a real treasure in there. I have my first Photo Friday set up.... I think. Be sure to send your pictures in. It will be fun!

Sorry to bore you all with another post today but I just got excited about the class I took Saturday. I have always enjoyed taking Continuing Ed classes so when I read Beginning Photo Shop was being offered by McNeese I just had to give it a try. It was taught in DeRidder so that was a plus. There were 7 "eager beavers" in the class that morning. The majority of them were teachers and other folks who had a strong interest in learning to manipulate photos. Several of them were avid photographers who wanted to learn how to improve their photos. I was there for the creative side to make cupcakes toppers, invitations and fun things like that not to work with photos. Our instructor was a young graphic designer, web designer and as she called herself "a Photo Shop Geek". She was great...very laid back..moved to Lake Charles from California. I'm thinking the whole time this is not really what I'm interested in but tonight I think I've been bitten by the photo shop bug. My husband insisted on buying me Photo Shop Elements...that's just how sweet he is. I hoped on Amazon and ordered it tonight. Then just for fun I went to Pioneer Woman and read some of her old posts on PS and looked at her tutorials now I can't wait to try some things. It's all about layers and I guess like everything else the more you play with it the better you get and the easier it gets. I won't ever be a PS expert but hey it's all about having fun right? Those of you who already know PS share your favorite effect or share a tip! Ummm, now I want a new lens for my camera and ......I need to get back to reality.
Twins! A boy and a girl!! How sweet. An aunt ordered these for the little ones. I love the sheep applique but it is a "doosey" to get it lined up correctly. I tried the sheep for Luke also but gave up and went to something foolproof! Their nursery bedding is brown and blue and brown and pink so we tried to use the same colors. Hope you've had a good weekend. I have had a busy week that is why I'm been out of touch. Hope to do better this week. See you tomorrow.

A friend ordered this for her daughter and son-in-law who are about to celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary. The have brown and turquoise in their home and she wanted something to match or blend with those colors. They all are going on a trip next week. Happy Anniversary!

I bought this set of png graphics last week and they are the cutest. I think I will create a whole party around them. I was playing tonight and make thank you notes. Tomorrow night I will play around with cupcake toppers and then...... There is even an embroidery design almost exactly the same. Wouldn't that make an adorable 1st birthday. When I bought it I thought it was a bird and then I looked again and thought maybe a chick. Well it is called a "birdie-chick" so I guess it is either or...whatever it is just cute and I have it in three colors. More tomorrow. Have a great Tuesday! Aren't the days rushing by? Lord, help me slow down and cherish each day.

I have seen many blogs where old picture frames were converted to chalkboards. I love that look and have been wanting to try to make one myself. Months ago I picked up chalkboard paint in a spray can because I had planned to make one. Well finally last night I bought a 14 x 18 frame. I decided to spray paint the glass with the chalkboard paint not really knowing if it would work. It worked and it's great! I plan to use it for showers and birthdays and anything else when I want to make someone feel special. I bought my paint at Stines in Lake Charles but I'm sure Lowe's and maybe even WalMart carry it. I painted outside because of the fumes but brought it in to dry so that bugs would not land on it. Today I gave it another coat and tonight I wrote on it. The things that can be done with chalkboard paint are endless. Have fun with your chalkboard paint!
